Victoria Breakers Youth Baseball Club

2023 Winter Clinic is now full. Not accepting new registrations.

Is an independent registered Not for Profit Society that is aimed at Players 11-15. We start our off season training in September but take ongoing registration right up until the end of the off season as long as spaces remain.

This season we will practice once a week. Practices will take place at the Hollywood Park batting cages. At this time we would like to thank Beacon Hill Little League for letting us use their batting cage for our program, it is a wonderful facility.

Time:

10:00am-11:45pm

We will practice the whole off season taking breaks that follow closely with most school holidays like the Christmas Break. Our practices continue until the end of March just before regular seasons start at most parks.

There is no commitment to be a part of a team at the end of the off season. Players are encouraged to seek out what ever Program or Park that can provide the best fit for what ever skill level they choose to be a part of. Our goal is just to create a space where players can continue to improve their skills in an informative, fun, supportive environment.

Our program offers skill development for six months of the off season. You can join at anytime during the off season but signing up early gives you a better chance at getting a space and a better value for your registration fee.

Registration fee during the off season is $250.00 and includes a hat and dry-fit shirt, which can be personalize with players last name and favorite number on the back of the dry-fit.

We encourage an environment where players are respectful of one another and their individual skill levels. No player will get cut from our team! All we ask is that players come with a positive respectful attitude towards Coach’s and other Player’s and that they push themselves to strive to be the best Player and Teammate we know they can be.

We train during the off season of local league’s,

Training during the off season can be a great way to work on skills for the regular season but training in the winter can be a challenge when the weather is involved.

We are very grateful to have access to a double sided fully enclosed batting cage to practice in, where we can practice batting, pitching, fielding skills and catcher practice.

Thank You to Beacon Hill Little League for the use of their batting cage. It’s a great facility to practice in.

Upcoming events and dates to note:

Field change due to Weather:

After the Christmas Break we are going to look into the demand from all who are registered and look at getting some field space outdoors to practice on when the weather permits. We will however keep our normal practice times in the batting cage which is fully in closed from the weather.

Bottle Drive Challenge:

To keep our registration fees low, we will do at least one bottle drive during the off season. The way we do the bottle drives is that we give all the players bottle depot bags and they are challenged to fill as many as they can with the top three players receiving a prize when the challenge is over. Last off seasons bottle drive was very successful with an amazing level of participation from all of the players.

Thanks to everyone who participated, so many of you did and put a great effort into this fundraiser. It’s the best participation I have seen from any team or program I have been apart of before, so Impressed!

We raised $824.00 !!! Wow amazing team effort

This past off season our Breakers Players helped a local food bank in Langford and were very helpful with the incredible work the food hamper program provides for people in the community. We will be looking at volunteer opportunities for the players to learn to use team work for a positive use other than sports. The Breakers Baseball Club believes that the team work skills in sports helps set players up for team work and leadership skills that are essential outside of sports.

Great Job to those who helped with the Food Hamper program at the Langford Legion, close to 70 food hampers were put together by our players and given out to people in the community who need just that little bit of extra help. Our players were able to be a big part in this program and I am sure it will continue to be something we help with for years to come.

Practicing drills is one thing, learning how to be a great teammate helps lead to great people in our community. Sports can be a great teacher for that.

Our philosophy on training is to keep it fun but not to lose focus on improving skills with well thought out drills that are designed to get the maximum participation for all the players present at the clinics.

At each of our clinics, once we have accomplished everything we want to cover, we like to finish our training session by playing a game. At our outdoor sessions this might be a scrimmage and at our indoor sessions we like to do baseball skills challenges or sometimes we will play another sport just to keep the practices fun and the players excited about coming each week.

At the end of the off season clinics, it is our hope that players will have found an appropriate program for their age and skill level where the program offered is played on a field size that helps the player develop their abilities in a responsible way. We can help parents in this search as best we can, feel free to ask our advice at any time.
